Share:

On the first day of Christmas NZ gave to me, a bunch of weird festive injuries.

Twelve Days of Christmas

– Hello
– Hi, what’s your name, sir?
– My name is Nick.
– Nick, lovely. Where are you from, Nick?
– I am from NZ, but I live here.
– Oh, you live here.
– What do you do here?
– I am a paramedic.
– A paramedic! a proper job. I am glad you here.
– Okay, off you go with your story, sorry, sir.
– Uh, so when I was a paramedic back in NZ, one Sunday afternoon, I went to a guy who chopped three fingers off with the lawnmower. And we packaged his hand up, we had to look for his fingers in the bushes and the hedge, and everything like that. And we rushed him to hospital because if they get to hospital in time, they can reattach the fingers. And on the way to the hospital I said “you are 40 years old, how do you know not to put your hands at the bottom of the lwanmower?” And he said “I was driving home this afternoon and I saw a guy had picked up the lawnmower, turned it on his side and walked across the front of the hedge”, and he said “it’s a brillent idea.” So he did his lawns and then he did that. As he turned up to hospital we walked into reception to see the surgeon. And we walked past another person and he said “Hey, that’s the guy I saw with the lawnmower!!”

Onions really are dangerous: 3000 ACC claims for injuries
