If you’re looking for expert advice on training your dog, consider attending the Western Bay of Plenty District Council’s Doggy Day Out. This popular, free event will take place at the Ōmokoroa Sports Ground on Saturday, March 16, from 10am-1pm. This year’s theme is ‘Beach Day’.
World-famous animal trainer Mark Vette will be at the event for the second year in a row, sharing his knowledge and training tips. Council’s animal services officers will also be there to provide advice. The event will feature agility demonstrations, food and dog-related stalls, pony rides, face painting, a photo booth, and a ‘best dressed’ competition.
The Doggy Day Out has been growing each year, with over 1500 people and their dogs attending last year. “Mark Vette was a big hit last year and we’re excited to have him back,” says event coordinator Vicki Lambert.
The event is not just about fun, it’s also a chance for dog owners to learn more about their pets and strengthen their bond. “We’re looking forward to seeing all kinds of dogs, big and small, dressed in their best beachwear,” Lambert added.
