Business optimism has reached its highest point in almost nine years, according to a survey by ANZ. The survey found that 31% of respondents believe the economy will improve in the next year, the highest percentage since March 2015. Additionally, 26% of respondents said they felt positive about their own business outlook, the highest in two years. The most optimistic sectors were retail, services and construction, while agriculture-related businesses were less positive. Senior economist Miles Workman suggested that the economy would likely avoid major downturns, but questions remain about inflation rates.
