New Zealand has had two new cases of Covid-19 confirmed this week, both in managed isolation.
It has been 100 days since the last Covid-19 case was acquired locally from an unknown source.
The first confirmed case was a man in his 20s who traveled to New Zealand from the Philippines via Hong Kong on July 23. He has been in managed isolation at the Rydges in Rotorua and tested negative on day three of his stay. He has since been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility after testing positive.
The second confirmed case is a woman in her 40s who arrived into New Zealand from the Philippines via Hong Kong on August 1. She has been in managed isolation in Auckland at the Grand Millenium.
Both cases were confirmed on August 5.
The total number of active cases in New Zealand is now 24, they are all in managed facilities.
