Waikato residents with ideas for community-focussed creative projects are able to request funding to help them get their projects off the ground.
The Creative Communities Scheme (CCS) has opened its most recent funding round. Projects must be arts and community focussed and take place in the city no earlier than October 13. To be eligible for funding, projects must fulfill at least one of three criteria – diversity, rangatahi, or access and participation.
Previously funded projects include theatre productions, drumming courses, concerts, exhibitions, drag shows and a beatbox competition.
Hamilton City Council has requested that applications be made through their online funding system. More information can be obtained by contacting Creative Waikato at hello@creativewaikato.co.nz or 0508 427 892.
The funding round closes at 5 pm on Friday, August 26.
