A drunk driver almost six times over the legal limit crashed into multiple cars in a supermarket parking lot. Police arrived at New World Gardens in North Dunedin on Saturday at about 7:10 PM, according to Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond.
The 37-year-old man, who was already intoxicated, decided to drive to the supermarket. However, he didn’t make it inside. Instead, he crashed into two parked cars while reversing and then hit two more cars when driving forward.
Luckily, no one was hurt, as there was only one person in one of the damaged cars at the time. The man had a breath alcohol level of 1443 micrograms per liter, nearly six times the limit for a ticket and over three times the limit for a court case.
He now faces charges for drink driving and dangerous driving.
