The Hastings i-SITE (official visitor information centre) is now open for business in newly renovated premises.
The facility has moved to the redeveloped Municipal Building in the Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre.
The redevelopment of the historical Municipal Building was the final stage in a $40m seven-year project that also included the earthquake strengthening and refurbishment of the Hastings Opera House.
The new i-SITE site includes interactive maps and digital screens, a retail selection of Hastings-inspired art, clothing and souvenirs, as well as being the box office for events at the Toitoi centre.
Hastings District Council spokesperson Naomi Fergusson said that the new centre “enhances the visitor experience of Hawke’s Bay, providing a modern, exciting showcase of our district that helps ensure our region continues to be a wonderful place to visit, and it provides additional tourism support to assist in maximising the economic benefit for our entire region.”
The i-SITE is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and on weekends and public holidays from 10 am to 2 pm.
