New Zealand is the 10th “happiest” country globally, according to the annual World Happiness Report by the UN. This ranking makes it one of the few non-European nations in the top 20. Finland leads the list for the sixth consecutive year, followed by Denmark and Iceland.
The report uses data from the Gallup World Poll and considers factors like corruption, healthy life expectancy, and GDP per capita.
Despite concerns in New Zealand about crime and living costs, former Prime Minister Helen Clark highlighted the positive aspects, mentioning that the ranking counters the negative news about the country.
