The New Zealand Television Awards, the country’s biggest night in screen, took place on Tuesday night, celebrating the best in local television talent. The event, held at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre, honored the best in New Zealand’s film media in 2023, including actors, directors, journalists, and screenwriters.
Among the attendees was Aesha Scott, star of “Below Deck: Down Under,” who was nominated for Television Personality of the Year. Scott wore a custom silver sequined dress by New Zealand label BW, founded by designer Blair White, and earrings by Layla Casey.
Newshub journalist Patrick Gower, nominated for Best Presenter: News and Current Affairs, wore a Working Style suit. He confessed that he had to get help from the store’s staff to tie his bowtie. His favorite television moment of 2023 was his own show, “Paddy Gower Has Issues.”
Also nominated for Best Presenter: News and Current Affairs, Q+A host Jack Tame arrived in a Working Style suit. He confessed to being a huge fan of the show “Grand Designs.”
Broadcaster Jesse Mulligan wore a blue suit from Three’s private wardrobe. His pick for the best television moment of the year was the final episode of “The Project.”
Newshub Live at 6pm co-presenters Samantha Hayes and Mike McRoberts also attended. Hayes wore a dress from Three’s wardrobe, while McRoberts sported a new Crane Brothers suit.
“Next Goal Wins” star Oscar Kightley, who received the Television Legend award, wore a Crane Brothers suit. His highlight of the year was the home premiere of “Next Goal Wins.”
Comedian Chris Parker, nominated for Best Script: Comedy for his work on “Double Parked,” wore a Zambesi suit. His standout moment of the year was fellow comedian James Mustapic’s win on “Celebrity Treasure Island.”
