He discussed the new government’s foreign policy approach, expressing gratitude to New Zealand’s Diplomatic Corps for their work both domestically and abroad. Peters acknowledged the current challenging global conditions and emphasized the need for collaboration. He stated that New Zealand would focus on strengthening its relationships with other countries based on mutual achievements. Peters also mentioned the country’s commitment to bolstering the Indo-Pacific region’s rules and norms, and to strengthening partnerships with Pacific countries. He added that New Zealand would also focus on enhancing its relationships with Australia, the US, Canada, and the UK, and would pay more attention to Asia, including India and Southeast Asia.
