Plans for the section of Maunganui Road from Tui Street to Hull Road are being drafted, says Tauranga City Council.
“Local business owners and the local community will be contacted for input and feedback as and when draft plans are available,” says a council spokesperson.
Work on Maunganui Road is paused for this next week of Monday, May 29, which means no traffic impacts are anticipated.
“As the changes are embedding well, trees have now been installed and are adding to the new look of the area,’ says a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.
“Grass has been seeded and as soon as the finishing touches are in, cones will be removed.”
Speed has been a long-standing concern on Maunganui Road which impacts on the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.
