A mother from Gisborne shared a scary experience when a bullet went through her home, hitting the walls of her children’s bedroom. She posted her story on social media, expressing her fear after the incident occurred late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning on Glasgow Crescent in Kaiti.
In her post, the mother described how the bullets damaged her house. “The bullets went through the front of my house, into my baby’s room, up through the ceiling, and down through the kitchen wall, stopping at a beam in the middle of the kitchen,” she wrote. She added, “If it can do that much damage, I can’t imagine what could have happened to my family. What is going on in this town? We haven’t done anything to deserve this.”
Fortunately, no one was hurt. A police spokesperson confirmed they received reports of shots fired at the Glasgow Crescent home. “There were no injuries, but the family was understandably shaken. Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson said.
The community supported the mother online. “Our whole neighborhood heard it but didn’t know it was gunfire. My baby thought the fuses blew a hole in her wall and ceiling,” one commenter said. Another user added, “Sorry to hear this happened to you and your family. Hope your children are okay.”
