테 아카 와이 오라 (Te Aka Whai Ora, 마오리 보건 당국) 와 보건부가 모두 뉴질랜드의 롱고아 마오리인을 지원하고 장려하기 위한 전략을 연구하고 있는 가운데, 펄롱은 정책 입안자들이 전통적인 마오리 사고의 이면에 숨겨진 이유를 이해해야 한다고 믿고 있습니다.한편 토이 마이 인력 개발 위원회 (Toi Mai Workforce Development Council) 는 펄롱에게 이 주제에 대한 마오리인의 관점을 설명하기 위한 이중 문화적 노력에 동참할 것을 요청했다.
