Last night, August 17 2021 Prime Minister Jacinda Adern announced that New Zealand would be entering Lockdown Level 4 for 3 days and Auckland would be in Lockdown Level 4 for 7 days.
This means that the Lockdown has commenced.
The Lockdown is due to a member of the public in the Auckland suburb of Devonport has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
What does this mean for you?
If you have visited the Coromandel Peninsula during the dates of Friday, August 13 and Sunday, 15 August you should get tested.
If you have any symptoms similar to Covid-19 you should get tested, or contact your doctor.
You should not go out unless you need to.
Some shops selling essential services and products will remain open. These include, supermarkets, pharmacies and petrol stations.
You are allowed to leave your home for exercise, ideally a short walk only in your neighbourhood.
You should stay in your “bubble” which would be the immediate people in your home. Do not let other people enter your “bubble” while the Lockdown is in place.
When you go out you should practice “social distancing” and stay 2 metres apart from other people. Wearing a mask whilst you are out is also advised.
