웰링턴 컴퍼니는 카피티 해안 일대에 2,350채의 주택을 추가할 수 있는 두 개의 프로젝트를 계획하고 있다.포리루아의 플리머튼 팜 (Plimmerton Farm) 과 어퍼 허트에 있는 실버스트림 포레스트 (Silverstream Forest) 의 개발 또한 과거에 있었던 논란에도 불구하고 승인되었다.

이 법안에 따라 포리루아는 3,300채의 새 주택을 확보할 것으로 예상됩니다.플리머튼 팜 프로젝트는 상업 지역, 은퇴 마을, 학교와 함께 2,400채의 주택을 건설할 계획입니다.그러나 환경 단체들은 이 프로젝트가 중요한 자연 지대인 타우포 습지 (Taupo Swamp) 와 가깝다는 이유로 비판하고 있다.포리루아 시장인 아니타 베이커 (Anita Baker) 는 도시에 더 많은 주택이 절실히 필요하다고 말하며 이 프로젝트를 지지한다.

실버스트림 포레스트 디벨롭먼트는 330헥타르 부지에 1500-2040채의 새 주택을 개발할 계획입니다.매립지 근처에 위치해 있다는 이유로 토지 구역을 변경하여 프로젝트를 막으려는 어퍼 허트 시의회의 반대가 있었습니다.

웰링턴 컴퍼니의 뉴 센트럴 파크 (New Central Park) 프로젝트는 1,800채의 새 주택을 추가하고 파라파라우무 타운 센터를 새로운 상업 및 소매 매장으로 확장할 예정입니다.오타키 마오리 레이싱 클럽의 또 다른 프로젝트에는 550채의 주택이 포함될 예정이며, 와이카나에는 와이카나에 노스 디벨롭먼트에서 1,000채의 새 주택이 들어설 예정입니다.

또한 “롱 터널 (Long Tunnel)” 프로젝트는 도시 아래에 4km의 터널을 건설하여 혼잡 지점의 교통을 용이하게 하는 것을 목표로 합니다.뉴질랜드 교통청은 현재 이 터널 계획을 조사하고 있습니다.

승인된 다른 프로젝트로는 북섬과 남섬 간의 해저 케이블 교체와 웰링턴 공항의 방파제 교체가 있습니다.
