Five hundred fruit boxes have been presented to charitable organisations for children and women in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi by the New Zealand Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and New Zealand fruit exporters.
Consul General Joe Nelson, who is also Trade Commissioner at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, said that chronic malnutrition is a major concern for disadvantaged children and adults in Vietnam.
According to Nelson, New Zealand enterprises want to not only sell their products but also show their social responsibility in Vietnam. Earlier this year, New Zealand fruit exporters also presented apples and kiwi fruit to medical staff and patients in many hospitals in Vietnam during the Covid-19 peak.
