New Zealand: home of the “Kiwi Drop In”

While New Zealand culture is largely influenced by American culture; think fast food, Netflix, hip hop and rap music. One of the best things about our culture is the “unexpected drop in”.

This is the friend turning up, unannounced, to check in with you and stay for a coffee.

It’s the Sunday afternoon drinks that turn into an invitation to stay for an impromptu dinner.

The house may not be clean, washing may not be folded, the kids might still be in their pajamas and it’s 3 pm in the afternoon. However, it is one of the most authentic and relaxing ways to spend time with friends and family and unique to our Kiwi way of life.
