      The port city of New Plymouth is the area's cultural and commercial hub. Taranaki's economy is diverse and includes dairy, oil and gas. The region is the highest contributor or national GDP per capita. 

      Wellington

      The region's only city Invercargill offers a relaxed pace of life with wide streets, little traffic, spacious parks and gardens, striking Victorian and Edwardian architecture and impressive sporting facilities including New Zealand’s first indoor velodrome. Southland's location is such that views of Aurora Australis or the Southern Lights are common.

일요일에 열리는 그레이트 K 밸리 사이클 어드벤처 참가자들은 경치 좋은 코푸레레루아 계곡을 자전거로 둘러본 후 여전히 기분이 좋아집니다.경주가 아니라 모험이었던 이 이벤트는 단서를 해독하고 과제를 완료하여 상금과 바우처를 받을 기회를 잡아야 했습니다.

타우랑가 선라이즈 로타리클럽 회원인 캐시 웹 (Kathy Webb) 은 “그날은 진정한 가족의 날이었다”고 말한다.“모두가 정말 행복했어요.”행사는 오전 10시부터 오후 2시까지 진행되었으며, 최대 6명으로 구성된 팀이 계곡을 가로지르는 10km 또는 25km 길이의 트레일을 따라 단서를 따라갔습니다.

올해 모험에 새로 추가된 것 중 하나는 위장복을 입은 유명한 현지 주민인 ‘Swampy’였습니다.참가자들은 Swampy를 찾아 함께 셀카를 찍고 그의 정체를 추측하여 추가 점수를 얻어야 했습니다.나중에 스웜피가 다름 아닌 전 타우랑가 시장 그렉 브라운리스라는 사실이 밝혀졌다.

이 행사에는 던진 달걀을 잡거나 얼마나 많은 팀원이 종이 위에 설 수 있는지 보는 등 다양한 도전 과제도 포함되어 있었습니다.이 행사에는 40개 이상의 팀이 참가했는데, 이는 작년과 비슷한 규모였습니다.

모리스 가족은 25km 코스에서 70점으로 1위를 차지했고, 키리 길레스피 팀이 69점, 크리스티나 브라운 팀이 66점을 획득하여 그 뒤를 이었습니다.

행사를 통해 모금된 기금은 뉴질랜드 전역의 27,000명 이상의 어린이 및 청소년과 함께 활동하는 자선 단체인 그레임 딩글 재단에 전달됩니다.재단의 웨스턴 베이 오브 플렌티 매니저인 댄 알렌-고든 (Dan Allen-Gordon) 은 올 블랙스, 블랙 펀스, 마오리 올 블랙스의 의류를 현물 상품으로 가져왔습니다.

이 행사는 가족과 친구들이 소중한 추억을 만들고 야외에서 시간을 보낼 수 있는 좋은 기회였습니다.
