Kids Vitamin C provides your child with extra vitamin C to support a healthy immune system function and to help healing during infection and injury or simply to assist in prevention of seasonal illnesses.
Description
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin found in fresh fruits and vegetables and some organ meats. Early humans lost the ability to synthesize vitamin C some 63 million years ago. Since then we have been reliant on our diet to provide adequate vitamin C.
While 90mg is the standard RDI, this has been set as the minimum amount required to prevent vitamin C deficiency, it is considered by many to be woefully low for the support and maintenance of optimal health. Goats, for example, who have the ability to synthesize vitamin C naturally produce approximately 18,000mg of vitamin C daily and even more when under stress or during trauma.
Vitamin C provides important antioxidant protection and helps support immune defenses especially in conjunction with B complex, zinc, iron, and vitamin A.
Vitamin C:
- Supports the production of interferon
- Is used by white blood cells (neutrophils)
- Reduces recovery time after ills and chills
- Speeds up the wound healing process
- Vital for the production of collagen – growing children need plenty in order to build strong connective tissue
In 14 different studies no adverse side effects, caused by doses of vitamin C higher than RDA levels, have been found.
Kids Vitamin C is used to support immune health, injury, or dietary deficiency. To help enhance the dietary intake of this essential vitamin that is commonly lacking in children’s diets.
