이번 부활절에는 1940년대 비행기 소리와 함께 와나카 상공의 하늘이 다시 울려 퍼질 것입니다. 코로나 19 팬데믹으로 인해 6년간 쉬었다가 돌아오는 워버즈 오버 와나카 에어쇼가 펼쳐집니다.1988년에 처음 개최된 이 국제 에어쇼에는 50,000명 이상의 참석자가 몰릴 것으로 예상됩니다.

이 행사의 제너럴 매니저인 에드 테일러 (Ed Taylor) 는 쇼에 대한 수요가 엄청나다고 말했습니다.그는 “2차 세계대전 모스키토, F-16 파이팅 팔콘, 아메리칸 이글스 제트 디스플레이 팀이 상상력을 사로잡은 항공기 라인업은 아마도 역대 최고 중 하나일 것”이라고 말했다.

에어쇼에 처음으로 참가하는 F-16 조종사 캡틴 Ethan Smith는 제트기의 능력을 선보이는 것에 대해 흥분을 표했습니다.그는 F-16을 독특하고, 단순하며, 민첩하고, 비행이 즐거운 항공기라고 묘사했습니다.

RNZAF는 현존하는 모든 종류의 공군 항공기가 전시회에 출품될 예정임을 확인했습니다 (이용 가능 여부에 따라 달라질 수 있음). 일부는 퍼포먼스 플라잉 디스플레이를, 다른 일부는 일반 대중이 가까이서 볼 수 있도록 고정된 디스플레이로 전시됩니다.

워버즈 오버 와나카 에어쇼는 이번 주 금요일부터 4일에 걸쳐 진행됩니다.
