Mountain Biking in South Waikato

South Waikato is a mountain biker’s paradise, with its vast forested areas and stunning landscapes. Cougar Park, located off Mossop Road in Tokoroa, is an excellent facility that offers riders of all levels and abilities a chance to explore the area on their bike. The park has several well-maintained tracks with new tracks being developed regularly.

There is also The Waikato River Trails, that extend from Atiamuri Village in the south to the southern end of Lake Karapiro in the north. The trail is broken into 5 sections, that wind along a path that encompasses the magic and beauty of New Zealand native bush, exotic forest, historic landmarks, Hydro Dams, interesting rock formations and geological delights.
