그랜트 로버트슨(Grant Robertson) 재무부 장관은 뉴질랜드에서 제일 큰 도시인 오클랜드와 코로만델의 봉쇄가 앞으로 7일이 계속될 예정이므로 이 지역에 기반한 사업체들은 정부의 임금 보조금을 신청할 수 있다고 발표했습니다.
뉴질랜드의 나머지 지역 봉쇄는 3일 동안 지속될 것으로 예상되며, 여기에 해당되는 사업체들은 이번 봉쇄로 인해 매출이 40% 감소할 것으로 판단되는 경우에 한하여 보조금을 신청할 수 있습니다.
임금 보조금은 2020년 3월 최초로 시행된 4단계 봉쇄 이후에 인상된 임금을 반영해 조정됐습니다. 해당 사업체들은 다음과 같은 사항을 확인하십시오.

– 풀타임에 상응하는 직원, 주당 $600.00
– 파트 타임에 상응하는 직원, 주당 $359.00
고용주는 2021/08/20(금)에 임금 보조금을 신청할 수 있습니다. 첫 번째 보조금은 3 일 후에  2주치 일시금으로 입급됩니다.
또한 정부는 어려움을 겪는 사업체를 위해 재기 지원금(Resurgence Support Payment)을 마련했으며 이번 봉쇄로 인해 30%의 매출 손실이 발생하는 사업체들이 대상입니다.  지원금은 최대 $1,500.00이고, 더불어 풀타임에 상응하는 직원 최대 50명까지 1인당 $400를 지급합니다.  따라서 1개의 사업체가 예상할 수 있는 총액은 최대 $21,500입니다.
재택근무가 불가능한데 자가 격리를 해야 하는 직원을 둔 기업에게는 ‘휴가 지원 제도(Leave Support Scheme)’를 신청할 수 있습니다. 이 제도는 풀타임의 경우 주당 $585.80, 파트타임의 경우 주당 $350의 지원금이 일시불로 지급됩니다.
사업체가 받을 수 있는 또 다른 지원은 단기 부재 지원(Short-Term Absence Payment)으로 일시금 $350 (30일당 1회 가능)입니다. 이는 코로나 검사로 인해 출근하지 못하고 재택근무도 할 수 없는 근로자를 둔 사업체를 위한 것입니다.
