Air New Zealand 웹사이트에서는 오클랜드에서 퀸스타운, 크라이스트처치, 웰링턴으로 가는 항공권을 예약하는 것에 관심이 급등했으며, 온라인 트래픽을 봤을 때 지난 4개월에 비해 두 배로 증가했다.
AA의 여행 및 관광 총책임자인 Grieg Leighton은 예약이 급증할 것으로 예상했다.
“지역 간 여행은 반드시 상승할 것이며 약 두 배일 것으로 본다. 첫 번째는 친구나 친척들의 방문이고, 두 번째는 휴가를 미루고 오클랜드를 떠나지 못해 미쳐가는 사람들에 의해서다.”
이어 그는 “사람들은 COVID 정책에 대해 정보를 제공받으려 노력하고 있다”고 말했다.
뉴질랜드 소비자 대표 John Duffy는 예약할 때 구매 전 약관을 이해해야 한다고 조언했다. 그는 정책이 바뀔 수 있어 어쩌면 예기치 않게 집으로 돌아가야 함을 의미할 수 있다고 말했다.
“다시 봉쇄될 수 있는 위험이 있으며 일부 숙박업자들은 정부가 시행한 규제로 인해 여행을 할 수 없다면 환불이 되지 않을 것을 고지하고 있다. 까다로ㅜㄴ 환불 조건을 갖춘 상품을 예약한 경우 이러한 위험을 감수하는 데 불편함이 없는지 확인하기 위해 미리 [약관]을 확인하는 것이 매우 중요하다.”
여행자들은 또한 접종자 또는 미접종자를 위한 숙박 형태를 체크하는 것이 좋다.
“미접종 여행자들을 받지 않는 숙소인지 예약 전에 확인해야 한다”고 당부했다.
