Hamilton 바로 남쪽 1번 고속도로에 위치한 South Waikato는 진정한 뉴질랜드스러운 모험의 중심지이다.
사이클리스트들은 와이카토 강 산책로를 따라 멋진 경치를 감상할 수 있다. 만약 자전거를 좋아하지 않는 사람이더라도 이 근처에서 고즈넉한 산책을 즐길 수 있다.

국제적으로 찬사를 받고있는 ‘Te Puna(Blue Spring, 푸른샘)’은 매우 순수한 형태의 물로 자연이 선사하는 보물(Taonga)이다. 수십만 년에 걸쳐 형성된 Te Puna는 지질학, 생태학, 생물학, 지리학이 합쳐진 독특한 곳이다. 이 곳으로 소풍을 가면 4.7km의 산책로를 거닐 수 있다.
