“우리는 [expanding]몇 년 동안 생각해왔습니다. 왜냐하면 우리가 있던 건물이 성장하고 있다는 것을 깨달았기 때문입니다.

“매년 더 바쁘게 변하고 점점 더 많은 의사와 더 많은 간호사가 필요했습니다.저는 22년 동안 이곳에 왔는데 그 시간이 지나면서 조금씩 확장되었습니다.” 라고 Mayne은 말했습니다.

2층짜리 건물 내부에는 넓은 대기실, 자연 채광이 들어간 대형 GP 사무실의 복도, 경미한 수술과 응급 소생술을 갖춘 기능적인 간호사 스테이션이 있습니다.

2018 년 인구 조사 자료에 따르면 하우라키 지구의 인구는 65대 이상 4728 명으로, 2013년 이후 831 명이 증가했습니다.

Mayne은 인구 요구와 의사 실습 방식의 변화로 인해 더 크고 미래 지향적 인 시설로 전환해야한다고 말했다.

“처음 시작했을 때 우리는 의료 센터가 거대하다고 생각했습니다.

“이 마을은 20년 전 매우 졸린 곳이었고, 지금은 확실히 활기차고 있습니다.마을이 확장되고 있으며 이는 우리에게 영향을 줄 것입니다.” 라고 그는 말했습니다.

“우리는 책을 닫는 것을 매우 꺼려합니다. 그래서 우리가 할 수 있는 곳에서 할 수 있는 일은 수요를 충족시키기 위해 더 많은 의사를 모집하는 것입니다.”

새로운 센터를 건설하기 위한 여정은 2년 가까이 걸렸으며, 2018년 5월에 첫 스페이드가 토양에 부딪혔습니다.

오하우포 (Ohaupo에서 정기적으로 출퇴근 한 Mayne) 는 1960 년대 원래 건물을 재사용하는 것이 “내가 상상했던 것보다 훨씬 더 큰 사업”이라고 말했다.

의료 센터로서 건축업자는 복잡한 지진, 화재 및 전기 규정을 준수해야 했습니다.

치과 의사와 숙박 시설을 위해 평면을 수용 할 꼭대기 층은 향후 몇 개월 내에 완비 될 예정입니다.

“모든 것이 똑같습니다.” Mayne은 말했다.

“우리는 시간이 지남에 따라 시스템을 개발했으며, 우리가 가지고 있는 모든 것을 가져와 여기에 가져왔습니다.모두 동일한 사람과 서비스입니다.

“저는 이것이 미래에 진출하는 환자들에게 일차 건강 관리가 이루어질 것이라고 확신한다고 생각합니다.

“그것은 항상 오래된 건물에 대한 비전이었습니다. 단지 더 커져야 할 허브입니다.”
