University Hall menampung lebih dari 500 siswa dan dikelola oleh UniLodge. Siswa disarankan untuk menghubungi UniLodge untuk mendapatkan bantuan, seperti minuman elektrolit gratis, air kemasan, dan makanan kemasan.

Keamanan Pangan Selandia Baru juga sedang menyelidiki situasi tersebut. Wakil direktur jenderal Vincent Arbuckle menyatakan mereka bekerja dengan Layanan Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional untuk menentukan penyebab wabah, termasuk memeriksa sumber makanan dan non-makanan.
