보험 종류
종합자동차보험은 자차뿐 아니라 타인의 차와 재산에 대한 손해에 대해서도 보상해 줍니다. 사고가 난 자차와 타인의 차가 포함되며, 또 이로 인해 발생한 우발적인 부상 및/또는 사망이 포함될 수 있습니다.
제3자보험(third-party)은 타인의 자동차와 그 재산에 대한 손해, 때로는 다른 차량의 부상 및/또는 사망에 대해 보상합니다. 그러나 자차에 대한 손해 비용은 보상하지 않습니다. 이러한 이유로 제3자보험은 저렴한 편입니다.
제3자보험은 일반적으로 자차의 화재 및 도난 보험을 추가할 수 있는 옵션이 있습니다.
타사 자동차 보험에는 일반적으로 화재 및 도난을 추가 할 수있는 옵션이 있습니다. 즉, 차량을 도난 당하거나 화재로 손상된 경우 차량이 보호됩니다.

 

피보험자
자동차 보험은 운전자 또는 차량을 보상합니다. 자동차 보험 정책에는 피보험자 또는 보험 내용이 매우 구체적으로 나와 있어야 합니다.
운전자보험의 경우, 자차든 타인의 차량이든 상관없이 보험의 대상이 된다는 것을 의미합니다.
자동차보험의 경우, 이는 자차만 보험의 대상이라는 것을 의미합니다. 그러나 일반적으로는 자신의 차량을 운전하는 사람이라면 누구든지 그 보험의 대상이 될 수도 있습니다.

 

조건
보험이 유효하지 않을 수 있는 상황이 있을 수 있으므로 보험 조건을 꼭 주의 깊게 읽어보세요. 본인이나 본인의 자동차가 보험 조건에 반하는데 자동차보험에 가입하는 것은 무의미할 뿐만 아니라 돈낭비입니다. 몇 가지 분명한 예를 들면 다음과 같은 경우에만 자동차 보험이 유효합니다.

  • 운전자가 유효한 운전 면허증을 소지해야 함(뉴질랜드 운전 법규 확인)
  • 차량은 안전하게, 그리고 합당한 도로 주행 조건에서 운전되어야 함
  • 운전자가 음주나 약물에 대한 영향을 받지 않아야 함
  • 차량은 상업용, 업무용이 아닌 개인적인 용도로만 사용되어야 함
  • 차량 상태, 운전 이력, 운전자 정보에 거짓이 없어야 함

 

자부담
자동차 보험의 문구와 정책에 ‘자부담(excess)’라는 단어가 표시됩니다. 이는 보험 용어로서, 보험 청구 시 손해액의 얼마를 자신이 부담하느냐입니다. 예를 들어, 500NZD이 자부담이고 손해 청구 금액이 5,000NZD인 경우, 보험 회사는 4,500NZD를 지급합니다.

 

사고 시 대처법
긴급 상황이 발생했을 때는 가장 먼저 111에 전화합니다.
교통 사고를 당한 경우, 다른 운전자의 이름과 연락처, 관련 차량의 등록 면허 번호 등 사고에 대한 모든 세부 정보를 기록해두세요. 또한 목격자의 이름과 연락처도 파악해둡니다.
그런 다음 보험회사에 전화하면, 보험을 청구할 전화번호를 알려줄 겁니다.
