뉴질랜드의 주요 거점도시에서 캠핑카와 모터홈을 대여할 수 있습니다. 일부 업체는 유연한 대여/반납 서비스를 제공하므로 굳이 왕복하지 않더라도 한 지점에서 다른 지점까지만 사용할 수 있습니다.
모터홈은 주거 공간이 넉넉한 대형차를 말하며 대개는 샤워시설과 화장실이 완비되어 있습니다.
캠퍼밴은 모터홈의 소형 버전으로 일반적인 밴 크기입니다. 다만 일부 캠퍼밴에는 화장실 및 주방 시설이 갖춰져있지 않으므로 자유여행 캠핑을 계획 중이라면 차량 옵션을 꼭 확인하세요. 작은 차일수록 운전과 주차가 용이합니다.

 

캠핑카 비용
대여료는 계절에 따라 다르며 여름에는 겨울에 비해 거의 두 배 가까이 더 비싸기도 합니다.
가격도 차량 상태에 따라 다른데, 일부 업체는 저가 여행객을 위해 구형 차량을 구비해두기도 하고, 최상의 기능과 편안함을 원하는 운전자를 위해 더 비싼 차량을 구비해두기도 합니다.
대체로 성수기와 비성수기 사이의 기간을 노려보거나 사전 예약도 고려해보세요.
요금은 일반적으로 하루에 무제한으로 포함되지만, 보험은 별도이며 일별 요금에 보험 추가 여부를 선택할 수 있습니다. 종합여행보험에 가입되어 있다면 필요없을 수 있지만, 높은 금액의 보증금을 요구할 수도 있습니다.

 

캠핑카 주차구역
홀리데이 파크(holiday Parks)와 캠핑장에는 주방, 세탁소, 화장실 시설을 갖추고 있으며 호수나 바닷가에 위치한 곳이 많습니다. 전원이 공급되는 캠핑장에서는 전기를 차량과 연결할 수 있으므로 배터리를 충전하고 히터와 같은 전자제품을 편리하게 이용할 수 있습니다.
완차량 내 모든 시설을 완비한 차량(fully self-contained vehicles)이 있다면 완벽한 자유캠핑 가능하겠지만, 지역마다 캠핑 장소에 대한 허용 규정이 다르기 때문에 현지 정보센터에 먼저 확인하는 것이 좋겠습니다.
