Collins tin rằng AI có thể được sử dụng trong các lĩnh vực như phân tích kết quả chụp quang tuyến vú và dạy kèm cho trẻ em. Tiến sĩ Michael Johnston, một thành viên cao cấp tại Sáng kiến New Zealand, ủng hộ tiềm năng của AI để thúc đẩy bình đẳng giáo dục. Tuy nhiên, ông cảnh báo rằng công nghệ không nên thay thế việc học các kỹ năng cơ bản và làm dấy lên lo ngại về việc tăng thời gian sử dụng thiết bị cho trẻ em.
Mahsa McCauley, giảng viên cao cấp tại Đại học Công nghệ Auckland và Giám đốc Diễn đàn AI, nhận thấy những lợi ích đáng kể cho giáo viên và sinh viên trong việc sử dụng AI. Cô gợi ý AI có thể xử lý các nhiệm vụ lặp đi lặp lại, giải phóng thời gian của giáo viên và cung cấp trải nghiệm học tập được cá nhân hóa cho học sinh. Tuy nhiên, bà cũng nhấn mạnh nhu cầu giáo dục về việc sử dụng AI và cách tiếp cận có trách nhiệm.
Trong lĩnh vực y tế, Collins đề xuất sử dụng AI cho các nhiệm vụ như xử lý kết quả chụp quang tuyến vú. Tiến sĩ Matthew Clark, bác sĩ phẫu thuật tổng quát và phó giáo sư tại Đại học Auckland, coi đây là một yếu tố tiềm năng thay đổi cuộc chơi. Ông cũng đề nghị sử dụng chatbot AI bằng các ngôn ngữ khác nhau để cải thiện giao tiếp sức khỏe. Tuy nhiên, ông đồng ý rằng sự giám sát của con người vẫn là cần thiết.
Allyn Robins, lãnh đạo AI của tổ chức tư vấn quan tâm công cộng Brainbox, kêu gọi thận trọng, nói rằng công nghệ này chưa có khả năng thực hiện các nhiệm vụ như dạy kèm. Ông cũng nêu lên lo ngại về cách dữ liệu cá nhân sẽ được sử dụng bởi các hệ thống AI.
Liên minh châu Âu đã quy định việc sử dụng AI trong các lĩnh vực có nguy cơ cao, bao gồm giáo dục và y tế, nhưng New Zealand vẫn chưa làm như vậy. Robins tin rằng một số hình thức hướng dẫn hoặc quy định là cần thiết.
